Brief History Of The University

The Lusaka Urban University (LURBU) was first registered as a prive company limited by shares in Zambia under the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) in consistent with the requirements of the companies act in Zambia and the University is preparing for its registration with the Higer Education Authority in Zanbia as an institution of Higher Education to offer programs from Bachelors, mastersand PhD in various fields. The University is a private funded institution which seeks to provide rellevant qualifications to society and be a centre of excellence in research. The University approaches its programmes and research emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and taking into account, areas such as economics, law and policy, management, science, technology as well as social and economical issues affecting society.

When fully operational, the University would have six schools.

These are:

  • School of Engineering;
  • School of Sciences;
  • School of Education;
  • School of Agriculture and Technology;
  • School of Natural Resources; and
  • School of Graduate Studies
